Today's SFI training topic is 'Using Direct Email Marketing' to build your SFI business. This is an interesting way to promote your SFI business because although it does have a monthly cost, as your business grows, this method of promotion will bring in additional income to your business! AND,We all want additional income.

In internet marketing, we would consider this to be a 'Multiple Income Stream' business strategy. Specifically, SFI would not be your total source of income!

Again, how you choose to build your business is your decision. It will always be to your advantage to use as many different marketing promotion methods as possible because people will respond differently when presented information by email, gateway links, postcard, phonecall, flyers, business cards, banners etc. Be sure you have visited your Marketing Aids main page here:

Your Upline leaders have most likely built their SFI Business using both 'placing free ads' and 'direct email' marketing techniques. To explain in a general way what is involved with 'direct email' marketing is now my purpose.

Direct MAIL marketing has been around a long time. It consists of targeting a group of people who you believe would benefit from your product and mailing them (snail-mail) your offer for them to respond to. Costs involved can include: post card, letter, free tape, cost of the list of mailing addresses, and cost of postage, etc. A large direct mail campaign can be very costly. Good results is 1-2%. Follow-up with your prospect is VITAL; but a headache.

With the internet you can more reasonably manage a Direct E-MAIL marketing campaign. You would still target your campaign to people looking for something related to your product or service. For SFI, it can be 'home business' themes. Using tools required for email marketing, you would send personalized emails, and send follow-up emails at set times. A large direct E-mail campaign can be reused somewhat and helps to minimize the costs for the tools: email responder, quality opt-in prospect leads, good quality promotional content/wording for the email messages. Again, good results is 1-2%. Follow-up can be far more effective and can be electronic; not as tedious as phonetag!

So what are the Direct E-mail Campaign Tools? (Your Personal Enroller will be able to tell you more about each of these and give your the names and links for the tools he is satisfied with.)

1) Email AutoResponder -- an internet-based application that allows you to load in email addresses, prospects names, and the letter content that you want sent to each person. The AutoResponder will send each prospect personalized emails from you inviting your leads/prospects to work with you in SFI! You will set a schedule (say 10 letters each sent 3 days apart for a month), and the AutoResponder does most of your Follow-Up work too!

2) Quality 'Opt-In' Network Marketing Leads -- You can never have too many network marketing leads. Most people quit network marketing because they run out of friends and family (warm market) to talk to; AND they don't have (cold market) opt-in leads to approach. Opt-in Leads are leads gathered from people who have indicated they want to receive some information about specific types of offers. Opt-in Leads may be targeted to people wanting to know about home-business opportunities and as such are appropriate for your SFI offer.

Buying Optin Leads is a cost of doing business you should plan on and will vary by the age of the information, the quantity of leads you buy, how much information you get etc. This generality is true: The more prospect leads you have to promote to, the faster your business will begin to grow. If you can afford only the minimum number of leads (and $$) each month, it will be longer for you to see results. AND by all means DO NOT BUY cheap leads advertised generally as 'pennies per lead' because these are leads harvested from the internet and certain to land you in 'Spam Jail'. Quality Opt-in leads can be substantiated with 'Spam Cops'!

3) Effective Marketing Messages -- Good email marketing messages are not casually written. They are created using proven information presentation techniques. Until you are very experienced in Direct E-mail Marketing, you will not create your messages. You will use the tools suggested by your Upline so that you can easily COPY and USE their messages. The Email AutoResponder will make this simple to do. You will need to allow yourself time to learn how to 'run' your 'responder'. You should expect to stumble and be slower the first few times you use it... It is a business skill you will soon master!

**As a side-note, both your Leads Provider and your Email AutoResponder company are 'generic' businesses. Their role is to provide support functions to YOUR Primary Business (in our case SFI). A big benefit to you is that both companies will have oodles of good, basic, network marketing education included in their monthly cost and you will just need to take advantage of it! You control how fast you learn about the network marketing business on the internet! **
