Stopping comment spam and ads.

What Is Comment Spam?

What Is a Blog Submitter?

Why Are They Spamming My Blog?

How Do I Stop Comment Spam?

Comment spam is when you receive one of those comments on your blogg that seems to have nothing to do with the blog itself or anything you have written. It often looks like this:

Great blogg! Its so reassuring to see that people can freely exchange ideas and opinions with out having to take out a small business loan in order to print it in paper form. Start a blogg and save a tree. Thanks for listening and letting me leave a comment. flash animation movie

In some cases the ad may be as simple as.

Hey great blog. Mp3's

So now you know what comment spam is. Usually this is little more then an annoyance but some people find it very offensive and rude.

So what is a blog submitter? Its a program designed to surf the web looking for random bloggs to put its message and link within your comments section. Like I said earlier these little comments are usually no problem for most bloggers, but I've seen ads that are nearly a page long littered with tons of links.

Here is a typical ad for Blog Submitter Pro:

This is SO BIG!
It gets top billing over my whole Site!!
Dominate the Web for ANY Keyword w/This SEO Miracle Tool!

I'm Truly Blown away that something like this even exists!
The price is going up After the First 1000 Are Sold & it's selling fast!
So Hurry! Click Here or on the box cover to see it's full power!

So I suppose your wondering if this program works as well as it is suppose to. The answer to that is yes! It does.

My personal testimony would look something like this.

"After using blog submitter pro for just a few days my website traffic nearly doubled, and my revenue from sales doubled as well. This is truly and awesome program." - Brian Dickey www.keytosuccess.info

So I suppose now your asking yourself why in the world would I tell you how to stop people like me from leaving these ads? Well its simple.

First of all I've made back several times the money that I paid out for the program in the first few days I used it.

Next I'll continue to make money from the advertising I've already done.

And finally I've pissed off enough bloggers that I've decided not to use it anymore except to advertise this page so bloggers can learn to protect themselves from people like me.

Check out my bloggs and see for yourself. Read the comments that other bloggers have left me about my comment ads. Very nasty people.

Adrenaline.

Low carb ketogenic diets.

Also allot of marketers are starting to use it and my competition is starting to catch up with me. Which means that this works so well I have to stop others from using it. I really don't want to share this program with anyone.

So anyway the mechanics behind Blog Submitter Pro 7.0 are rather simple. You see what I do is leave a comment behind on your blogg and attach a link to the comment. This link may look a little odd or maybe misspelled or just doesn't fit in with the rest of the sentence.

Everything about this link, when done properly, is important. You see google surfs the net in a manner similar to you and I, It constantly catalogs and updates its indexes to provide the most relevant info to searchers. The process it uses is what's important, it follows links, literally jumping from website to website and rates the importance of the site in relation to the site the link originated on. So what happens is. Google sees the link, follows the link, rates the link and most importantly to Internet marketers, it rates the link in relation to the words that are used in the link. Tricky tricky....

So misspelled words not a problem, doesn't fit in with the rest of the comment... not a problem. This is... keyword optimization.

So lets say I misspell the word music like lets say musie. Now google looks at the word and the link and associates the link with that key word. In an ideal situation when a person types the word musie in a search engine, up pops my webpage on the very top. If it all works I'm making money. And again yes it does!

So for the icing on the cake, helping me shutdown my competition.

Something as simple as turning on word verification within your blog will bring Blog Submitter Pro to it knees. Its simple to turn on and few people do it or even know about it.

Follow these steps.

Log into your blogger just like your going to create a new post.

Next click on the settings tab.

Then click on the comment link.

This will take you to the page were you control how comments are posted to your site. Simple clicking the "yes" next to word verification will do the job. But lets say you don't want to use that. Well you have other options as well. Most marketers like to stay anonymous they don't want you to know who they are. So requiring a person to log on to post will slow them down. But word verification works.

Then click save settings and republish your blog. That's all there is to it.

Now for some relevant info about those links. Not long ago google announced that it would start giving weight to a link tag that has always been around but it ignored. This tag is called a relivance tag. It looks like this rel="nofollow" this little tag tells google not to follow or give weight (rank) to the referring link. Its not a bad idea. So bloggs like blogger.com and others have these neat little javascripts that edit the links that are placed, when they are placed, and it adds this little tag and makes the link useless. You bet google doesn't even know all those links are there. It just surfs right on by them. Now there are some tricks to getting this to work for you and still make those ads effective. But I'm not telling. That's my little secret.

This is what Blog Submitter Pro 7.0 has to say about that.

UNDERSTANDING THE "NO FOLLOW" TAG::
The no follow tag is completely misunderstood by most marketers (which actually works to our benefit by leading to less competition!).

The no follow tag simply prevents the person who is posting to a blog from immediately benefiting from the blogs google pagerank.

If you post on a blog that has pagerank7 and you have pagerank0, that post will almost immediately move you to a pr5(example).... sounds great right? Well, there is a down-side.

If that site removed your link, you would immediately lose your pr5 rating (ouch!) and immediately fall out of existence.

This software creates keyword specific backlinks in a natural progression that will naturally cause your positioning to increase... so even if someone removes your link, it isn't going to really affect you in any meaningful way... because you have tons of those targeted links.

I don't want others to understand the no follow tag.... it keeps them from directly competing with us :-)

Hope this has helped.

I just received a great email concerning the "no follow" tag.... I'm posting is here for you to see and understand.

-----------------------------------------
Emailed Statement::
...A no follow tag will not only stop PR from bleeding to the particular site,
it will also stop the spiders from seeing the linked site as an authority
for the keyword phrase used as the anchor text for the link.

My Reply::
No, this is not correct according to my experience, and my own experience has been proven by results and not just speculation.

A backlink need not be recognized as "an authority" to still carry weight.

If you are depending on a single backlink, or even just a handful of backlinks, then having those links considered "an authority" is crucial. However, in having a large number of backlinks, not only is it no longer crucial, it truly borders on insignificants.

So you can see, marketers are going to keep using Blogg Submitters until they are blue in the face. So protect yourself. As long as it keeps working, internet marketers will keep using
